Did you know?

(This section of the Web site will tell you all kinds of random factoids as I pick them up. Hopefully they will have more legitimacy than this first one...eep!)

I suggest:
That anyone interested in learning more about what my experience *might* be like, read the book, RIVER TOWN, by Peter Hessler, correspondent for The New Yorker and travel writer.

He's got a new book out too, ORACLE BONES, and as far as I can tell, it is an excellent follow-up to his first book. I had the good fortune of hearing him speak in Seattle a month ago and when he signed my copies, I asked for some advice: "Don't get discouraged when you find you're not making any headway with the language. Keep plugging away at it."

The little people-doing-jumping-jacks across the top and bottom of this Web page are actually the symbol for Longevity in Chinese! According to *a Web site* this symbol is the most important symbol when it comes to eternal happinesses!
