My "new" China shoes!
I've been meaning to post this photo, but keep forgetting. These aren't really new anymore. I bought them during the October holiday and I love, love them. They are super cheap, seem very Chinese to me and I found another shop today that sells them as well as other Chinese-seeming shoes for cheap as well.
I'm in the market for Chinese-looking goods and Robyn is going to help me cull out the originals or unique stuff from the mass-produced, "for tourists only" stuff. In fact, she mentioned that the clothing we saw in the traditional shop today is made mostly by students who design these things using traditional Chinese patterns for inspiration and cloth from the country instead of the stuff that is made for export. I look forward to creating a modest wardrobe of clothing like this. The shoes are a good start, don't you think?
