Leaving Xi'an
I just turned in my room keys and was given an extra 50 kuai back with my deposit for staying in the hostel a full week. It's like winning the lottery! I've got about seven hours until my flight leaves Xi'an airport for Wuhan. Since luggage storage is free at the hostel, I will sit around here for a bit, listening to crazy travelers drink through the middle of the day and wondering if the hostel really owns only one CD - Janet Jackson's Velvet Rope. Then, I take a taxi to a nearby hotel and catch a bus to the airport, a 25 kuai, 50 minute drive North of the city. Mr. Ye is planning on picking me up in Wuhan, which is of the greatest importance as I learned this week that I won't be staying on the school's campus after all. "New" apartments have been opened for teachers at the branch school, a 20 minute bus ride from the main campus. So, I have no idea where I'll be living, but I'm REALLY looking forward to getting to Wuhan. This week has been wonderful and I'm so glad I chose to come here after SH, but I'm very excited about starting my teaching career. I've been in China for 2 months now, 8 weeks, 56 days. That's one sixth of my time in China. As I was recovering from hiking Hua Shan yesterday, I managed to write a lot about that particular adventure and have got 6000+ words to share on the experience. Incredible. The most amazing thing I've ever done in my life. I'm so thankful for the exact why in which I did it and I'll never be the same after it, I know. Are you sufficiently curious? More later,
Zai jian!
